Rick Lang wins a 2009 IBA Spectrum Award

The Indiana Broadcasters Association (IBA) held the 22nd Annual Spectrum Awards in Indianapolis on Saturday, November 14th. The Spectrum Awards recognizes broadcast excellence for outstanding achievement in broadcasting by Indiana television stations and radio. This competition is put in place to encourage the highest standards of reporting, community service and production creativity. These awards bring the ultimate prize of peer recognition to members of the Indiana broadcast industry.
On Saturday, the IBA awarded the winners at the Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis. Rick Lang of Vincennes was among the prestige, winning the award for first place in the commercial category. His winning commercial was for his own business, Sundown Pictures, which ran on-air on NBC affiliate WTWO-TV. Lang will be running that commercial, as well as other’s he has produced, on WTWO-TV at the start of the New Year. His award recognition also made it into the Vincennes Sun-Commercial newspaper in the Sunday, November 22nd 2009 edition.
“It’s such a great honor to receive this kind of recognition,” said Lang. “Getting nominated for this award was an achievement just in itself in my eyes. The fact that people enjoy my style and recognize the emotion and effort that goes into the work that I do is extremely important to me.”
When asked what was next for Sundown Pictures, Lang replied, “I will continue to build my website to where it will be easier to find out what services I offer and allow visitors to view a sample of each of those services. Also, I am creating a page to all the local businesses that are complementary to my services that either helps you find all the information on one page, or gives you ideas that you may not have thought of. All in all, 2010 will prove to be a successful year.”
